Liposuction
Liposuction is a procedure designed to re-shape the male or female body by removing pockets of fat from the body.
Liposuction delivers permanent results. While fat cells change size as we gain or lose weight, their numbers don’t change. Liposuction directly targets the problem areas by reducing the number of fat cells in that area. The change in body proportion is permanent, even with subsequent weight gain.
Liposuction is usually performed in our clinic using general anaesthesia. The procedure takes approximately 1 to 2 hours for a single area to be treated with time increasing according to the mass and number of areas to be treated.
It should be emphasized that liposuction is not a good substitute for weight loss by proper diet and exercise. It is intended for changing body shape where fat deposits are unable to be shifted by conventional methods.
Tummy Tucks
Tummy Tuck, or Abdominoplasty, is the surgical correction of a large abdomen or stretched abdominal skin.
There are numerous reasons for women's abdomens to not look or feel perfect, having children, ageing or weight loss and weight gain could all be factors that contribute to losing that perfect form of youth.
In brief, the procedure is the removal of excess fat and skin and lax underlying muscles are tightened. We usually also include liposuction as part of the procedure to further improve your shape. This often results in a flatter and firmer abdomen.
The procedure is not a replacement for weight loss but is useful particularly after having children or undergoing large weight changes and it may be the first step to a less self conscious and more healthy lifestyle. Obtaining a flatter tummy is the dream of many women and tummy-tuck can help you achieve this.
