Restore dental health and save your tooth
Root Canal treatment (or Endodontics) is designed to save an infected tooth. Root Canal treatment may be necessary when no other Restorative procedures are possible. This treatment will help to conserve a tooth which has been damaged by decay, fracture or an abscess.
Previously, if your tooth became infected it would have simply been removed; today, we will ensure every possible step is taken to save all teeth. During Root Canal treatment the infection is removed from the tooth and the root is then cleaned and filled. This prevents any further infection. Root Canal treatment may require a couple of visits to the Dentist.
Some indications Root Canal treatment may be required include:
- Tooth sensitivity to hot and cold liquids
- Tooth sensitivity to sweets
- Pain to biting pressure
- Throbbing, intermittent or severe toothache
- A swollen face
Root Canal treatments are often considered to be a dental emergency and can only usually be deferred for a couple of days.
If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, we recommend you visit us as soon as possible. Early treatment can avoid any aggravated problems and also rule out a more significant problem. « return to dentistry
