A Face lift is a surgical procedure intended to remove excess fat and skin while tightening the underlying muscles and re-draping the skin of your face and neck.
As people age, the effects of exposure to the sun, diet, smoking, hereditary factors and the stresses of daily life contribute to the visible ageing of the face. These variables can create a premature appearance of ageing.
People generally in the 40-70 age range consider facelift as a more long term solution to their ageing appearance.
There are a number of variations to the “full facelift” which target different areas of the face, depending upon personal requirements.
Brow / Forehead lift
Corrects a drooping brow, improving horizontal lines and furrows.
Mini facelift (also called S-Lift, Weekend facelift, Mid–Lower facelift)
Lifts the lower part of the face not including the brow area. Reduces jowling, creating a smoother youthful appearance.
Jaw and Neck lift, Jowl lift
Lifts “turkey neck “, sagging jowls and redefines the jawline.
Full face lift
All of the above procedures may be incorporated in a full facelift.
Facelift surgery is usually performed in our Day Surgery Centre using twilight sedation. The surgery takes from 2 to 5 hours depending on the complexity of the procedure.
